About Our Rescue

With great sadness we wish to announce that after 10 years of rescuing and rehoming hundreds of kittens and cats, Open Doors will be dissolving as a rescue. As of May 1, 2019 we will be officially closing our doors. Thank you to all of our loyal supporters, adopters, fosters and donors that have been so generous over the past 10 years. It has been a rewarding journey that could not have happened without all of you. We will be trying our best to re-home as many cats as we can over the next two months and would appreciate promoting the cats that we still have. If you know anyone looking to add furry members to their family, or another rescue that would be willing to take fully updated and adoptable cats, please send them our way.

Open Doors Animal Rescue was founded in 2009 by two young individuals who had grown tired of the needless suffering of homeless animals in their community. Founded out of Hampshire, IL, Open Doors Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organization that is based out of foster homes throughout the LaGrange and Chicagoland Area. The rescue deals primarily with cats, and often has events and fundraisers to help promote and find homes for the kitties in our care.

The rescue has many volunteers and is committed to saving and changing the lives of homeless and abandoned pets in our community. While our main focus is of course finding homes for our feline companions, we also assist anyone in need with getting their animals spayed or neutered, as well as providing pet food for those in need when able.
